Commissions, Shipping & Aftercare

Shipping

Orla has successfully shipped her artworks to 10+ different countries worldwide.

The customer is responsible for shipping costs + protection cover, which can be estimated prior to ordering using your country and postcode.

Orla uses a variety of international couriers (mainly An Post, DHL and FedEx). Please note that no regular courier companies cover damage, due to the fragile nature of the contents.

Orla uses generous amounts of (reused where possible) packaging materials, generally consisting of layers of;

  • Paper to protect the resin surface

  • Bubble wrap for padding

  • Cardboard for extra strength and protection

  • Double wall cardboard boxes with fragile tape

Orla is NOT liable or responsible for any losses or damage to artwork. Orla's liability and responsibility end when the artwork is shipped. However, Orla is happy to assist with tracking orders and contacting your parcel courier if any issues do occur. Please contact me via the contact form on this website.

If you wish to use a specific courier or a shipment company that specialises in transporting artwork, please add this request to your enquiry to discuss options.

Commissions

Orla's artwork is custom-made, and to place a commission request you can contact her directly through the contact form. Customers can provide references of her existing work, photographs, or color palettes, and even images of the space where the artwork will be displayed for size and color recommendations. However, it should be noted that replication of Orla's previous work is not possible due to the medium's nature.

Orla takes a 50% deposit on the total price of the artwork before beginning the work to protect her time and material usage. Upon completion of the work, Orla will send photos to the customer for approval. Once approved, the remaining 50% of the total price, along with the shipping cost, must be paid before shipping the finished product to the customer. Orla holds the right to retain the artwork if the payment is not made in full. For any unusual change requests, Orla reserves the right to change the price since additional work hours and material costs increase with each added layer.

After Care

When it comes to preserving the longevity and quality of Orla's artwork, she takes great care to ensure the quality of your piece for years to come. Orla only uses the highest quality professional grade epoxy resin with built-in UV stabilisers to prevent premature yellowing. It's important to keep the artwork away from direct sunlight to avoid damage such as yellowing or color fading. To keep your artwork in pristine condition, use a clean, soft microfibre duster cloth to wipe off dust. In case of fingerprints or greasy marks, use a soft microfibre cloth with a spray of glass cleaner, such as Windex, and buff until clean and smooth. Make sure to avoid any non-shiny areas when cleaning eg. rocks and shorelines, as this will damage them.

While the resin surface is durable, it can be scratched. Therefore, it's crucial to protect it accordingly when transporting or storing the artwork. Avoid using bubble wrap directly on the resin surface, as it may leave bubble marks. Instead, cover the surface with tissue paper before using bubble wrap or foam. Additionally, do not place heavy or sharp items against or on top of stored artwork as it will scratch.

Lastly, avoid hanging the artwork in damp or humid spaces, or above heating sources as the wooden panel may warp. With these care instructions in mind, you can rest easy knowing that Orla's artwork will look as beautiful as the day you received it.
