Every Breaking Wave now part of Design & Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI)

We're pleased to announce that Every Breaking Wave is now a member of the Design & Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI).

DCCI is Ireland's national agency for the commercial development of the craft and design sector. For over 50 years, they've supported designers, makers, and craft businesses across Ireland, helping them develop, sustain, and grow.

Becoming a DCCI member connects Every Breaking Wave with Ireland's wider craft community and provides access to resources, opportunities, and support that help craft businesses thrive.

What is DCCI?

The Design & Crafts Council Ireland works to promote excellence in Irish craft and design. They support makers through business development programmes, marketing initiatives, funding opportunities, and platforms that connect craft with buyers, galleries, and collectors.

DCCI members include designers, makers, and retailers across every discipline, from ceramics and metalwork to textiles and mixed media. The organisation champions quality, sustainability, and the value of handmade work.

Why DCCI Membership Matters

Joining DCCI provides access to a network of support built specifically for craft businesses. This includes business development resources, exhibition opportunities, and connections with galleries, retailers, and customers who value Irish-made work.

For Every Breaking Wave, DCCI membership means being part of a community that understands the realities of running a craft business. It means access to professional development, marketing support, and opportunities to showcase ocean-inspired resin art alongside Ireland's best designers and makers.

Made Local: A Key DCCI Initiative

As a DCCI member, Every Breaking Wave is also part of Made Local, DCCI's flagship campaign celebrating Irish craft and design.

Made Local connects people with handcrafted work that's made to last. The campaign currently features over 1,450 designers and makers, and 355 retailers across Ireland. It helps boost sales and visibility for Irish craft businesses while promoting quality, sustainability, and local production.

Supporting Irish Craft

DCCI's work extends beyond individual makers. The organisation advocates for the craft sector, raises awareness of Irish design, and creates opportunities for makers to connect with national and international markets.

Through initiatives like Showcase, the DCCI Academy, and Made Local, they provide makers with platforms to develop skills, showcase work, and build sustainable businesses.

What This Means for Every Breaking Wave

DCCI membership aligns with my commitment to creating art that's not decorative for the sake of trend, but art with presence, provenance, and emotional grounding. It connects us with a community that values the time, thought, and hands-on work that goes into each piece.

Each piece of ocean-inspired resin art I create is handcrafted in our Kilkenny studio using layered resin techniques. No two artworks are ever the same. From the carefully mixed pigments to the glass-like finish, every detail reflects a dedication to craft and quality, values that DCCI champions across the Irish craft sector.

Being part of DCCI means access to professional development, business support, and a network of makers who understand the challenges and rewards of building a craft business in Ireland.

Finding Irish Craft

If you're looking for Irish-made art and craft, the DCCI directory connects you with hundreds of talented designers and makers across Ireland. Every Breaking Wave is now listed alongside ceramicists, jewellers, textile artists, and makers working across every craft discipline.

Our resin artwork is available through our online shop, and at select stockists including:

  • The Gaslamp Gallery, Gorey

  • The Boatyard Gallery, Greystones

  • The Guinness Gallery, Dublin

About Every Breaking Wave

Every Breaking Wave creates contemporary resin and mixed media art inspired by the Irish coastline. Working from Kilkenny, artist Orla Doyle crafts hyper-realistic ocean slices and abstract ocean art that capture the power and beauty of the sea.

Each artwork is built up meticulously in layers, creating a unique three-dimensional effect that doesn't just look real—it feels real. The depth and texture invite viewers to explore the work from different angles as light shifts across the surface.

In 2025, we introduced Ocean Echoes, an interactive feature that allows collectors to hear real sounds from the Irish coastline by tapping their phone to the artwork.
