Aill na Searrach (The Leap of the Foals) Original Surf Art
Original Resin Artwork
Dimensions: 30cm
Medium: Resin on wood, high-gloss finish with black painted edges
Created: Kilkenny, 2025
Artist: Orla Doyle
Named after the legendary and thunderous wave at the foot of the Cliffs of Moher, Aill na Searrach (The Leap of the Foals), this circular ocean study captures the untamed spirit of one of Ireland’s most iconic surf breaks. The piece features a complex interplay of deep teals and earthen bronze tones, overwashed by a delicate, lace-like foam that mimics the powerful surge of the Atlantic. It is a visual tribute to the raw power and ancient folklore of the Clare coastline
This artwork has a hidden feature, a coastal audio escape sealed inside it. Scan the bottom right corner to unlock Ocean Echoes: an immersive 10-minute ocean soundscape recorded by the Irish coast. It’s a chance to pause, breathe, and feel closer to the sea, no matter where you are.
