DESCRIPTION:
This piece is a quiet invitation to reapproach the everyday. We often search for inspiration in the grand and the vast, but Happy with Little finds it in a single breaking wave. It’s about the joy of the little things in life, salt, sand, and the rhythmic pull of the tide.
Built up in layers of resin on wood, the work moves from warm golden sand in the lower corner through the white rush of breaking foam into deep cerulean and aqua. Flecks of gold catch the light in the water, giving the impression of sun on shallow reef. The finish is high-gloss and glass-like, and the texture of the shore reads differently depending on where you stand.
