DESCRIPTION:
This piece is a quiet invitation to return to what grounds us; while we often search for belonging in the grand and the vast, Where We Belong finds it in a single breaking wave—a gentle reminder that our truest home is found in the simple rhythm of salt, sand, and the tide.
Built up in layers of mixed media and resin on wood, the work moves from warm golden sand in the lower corner through the white rush of breaking foam into deep cerulean and aqua. Flecks of gold, shimmering greens catch the light in the water, giving the impression of sun on shallow reef. The finish is high-gloss and glass-like, and the texture of the shore reads differently depending on where you stand.
